The Museum of the History of Polish Jews at the Science Picnic
Join us on Saturday (June 15) during the Science Picnic at the National Stadium in Warsaw!
Our stand (no. 16) will feature a series of open art workshops based on Jewish tradition and Judaism as well as symbols connected with life. We will draw on topics and material from our Core Exhibition, including paintings from the replica roof of the wooden synagogue from Gwoździec. We will also present the reconstruction process, methods, tools and materials that were used to decorate the painted ceiling over 300 years ago. Children will be able to color in pages featuring chosen designs.
We will also present the Museum Resource Center – a place dedicated to all those who want to gain in-depth knowledge of history (including local history), culture and contemporary life of Polish Jews as well as conduct their own historical or genealogical research.
At 11.30, 2.30 and 5.30, we will conduct a hands-on workshop on Jewish life in prewar Poland.
Number of places limited. Duration: 1,5 h
Place: stand no. 16 next to gate no. 3 (entrance from Poniatowski Avenue)
