Program of the POLIN Meeting Point – Summer Education School
During workshops we will focus on the topic of postwar reconstruction, the emergence of a new, postwar identity in Poland and Germany, and the construction of Israeli statehood. We will draw on witness accounts, also learning how to work with oral history material. Together with invited experts, from Poland, Germany and Israel, participants will discuss the rebirth of Jewish communities, dealing with Holocaust trauma, postwar violence and various postwar debates.
The classes will be held at POLIN Museum in Warsaw. We will also invite the program participants to visit other museums and places of memory.
Educational value for the participants: students will consolidate and extend their knowledge of the history of the postwar period and different research perspectives, they will learn the professional standards and methods of oral history documentation and research, and students will also develop critical thinking skills and interpersonal skills.
The program has been developed in consultation with the Advisory Board, composed of:
- Dr. Yael Granot-Bein (University of Haifa),
- Prof. Dr. hab. Bianka Pietrow-Ennker (University of Konstanz),
- Dr. hab. Jolanta Żyndul (POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews).

The implementation of the project is possible due to the support of Nissenbaum Family Foundation.
