100th Anniversary of Ludwik Zamenhof's death

14 April marks the 100th anniversary of the passing of Ludwik Zamenhof (1859–1917), the father of Esperanto. For this reason, UNESCO declared 2017 the year of L. Zamenhof.

10:30 – 12:30, Walk along the prewar Zamenhofa Street

The walk will begin by reading excerpts from the book by Roman Dobrzyński Ulica Zamenhofa. The walk will be guided by Zofia Mioduszewska and by POLIN Museum volunteers.

14:00, Zamenhof – the POLIN Choir in concert

The POLIN Choir led by Sean Palmer will perform a piece inspired by the languages of Zamenhofa Street – Polish, Yiddish and Esperanto. 

The concert was part of the project organized by the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland. The concert is financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.
