Tadeusz Mazowiecki in Memoriam

We were grieved to learn of the passing of Tadeusz Mazowiecki in the morning of October 28, 2013.

Tadeusz Mazowiecki’s contribution to building democracy and civil society in Poland after the fall of communism cannot be overestimated. As the premier of the first democratic government elected in 1989, parliamentary deputy, founder of the Democratic Union and leader of the Freedom Union party, he fought for a strong, European Poland, while being active in many areas of public life. He was a Friend of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews. He will be greatly missed.
