The Grand Opening of the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews – Press Center

On October 26-28, 2014 the Grand Opening of the core exhibition 1000 Year History of Polish Jews takes place in POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. Representatives of the state, members of the most eminent Jewish organizations, as well as scholars, museum practitioners and donors will attend. On October 26-28 Press Center with computer equipment, non-limited Internet access, offering live broadcast of the opening events and press materials, will operate in the museum.

• Sunday, October 26, 2014, 10.00 AM – 8.00 PM
• Monday, October 27, 2014, 10.00 AM – 8.00 PM
• Tuesday, October 28, 2014, 10.00 AM – 12.00 PM

Location of the Press Center: level 0

Entrance for the media:

• October 26, 27: entrance to POLIN Museum from the Anielewicza Street side.
• October 28: entrance from the Lewartowskiego Street side.

Attention please! On October 28, 2014 it will be possible to enter the building only between 10.00 AM and 12.00 AM - before the start of the official ceremony attended by the President of Poland Bronisław Komorowski and the President of Israel Reuven Rivlin. Due to security reasons the entrance will remain closed after 12.00 AM.

Press accreditation pick up:

In the Press Center.

• On October 26 and 27, 2014 during the Press Center working hours.
• On October 28, 2014 between 10.00 AM and 12.00 AM.

During the ceremony POOL system will be implemented for all photo/video journalists:

• POOL 1 – localization near to the presidential sector, next to the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes
• POOL 2 – a two-level platform for photojournalists and cameramen, opposite to the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes
• POOL 3 – the main hall sector
• POOL 4 – the core exhibition sector in the Paradisus Iudaeorum gallery
• During the events of October 26-28 various briefings with museum authorities and founders, designers of the core exhibition, representatives of the museum donors and the Jewish community will be organized in allotted hours. Please note that more detailed information on briefings will be given in a separate press notice.
• On October 26-28 guided tours on the Core Exhibition will take place in allotted hours. Limited number of reporters may take part, prior registration is required: [email protected]

Attention please!

• Number of POOL cards is limited.
• Obtaining one POOL localization excludes the possibility of receiving another by the same person.
• Reporters will be informed if they have received a POOL card when they come to pick up their accreditations.
• POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews is responsible for the POOL cards administration.
• On October 26-28, due to security reasons and the number of people in the building, movement within the building will be restricted to the interior of the Press Center (with the exception of reporters with POOL cards, attendees of group tours of the Core Exhibition, as well as attendees of briefings and press conferences).
• On October 28, 2014 parking in the nearest proximity to POLIN Museum is not allowed. Traffic in the area will be restricted.
