Book collection of prof. Israel Gutman in the POLIN Museum’s library

Valuable collection of prof. Israel Gutman was donated to the library of the POLIN Museum by his daughter Tami Gutman. The library received 162 publications, for example, The Hebrew Encyclopedia, journals Bleter far Geszichte, Yad Vashem Studies, Holocaust and Genocide Studies. The books are a very valuable asset to the developing library of the Museum.
Prof. Israel Gutman, a distinguished historian born in Warsaw, was active in the Jewish Fighting Organization (ŻOB), took part in the uprising in the Warsaw ghetto. He served inter alia as an academic adviser to Yad Vashem. He died on October 1, 2013 in Jerusalem.
