The Identity Archives project

The Identity Archives project involves digitalisation of clothing, which is a huge part of our cultural history, and making the digital objects available to a wider audience through a platform that collects archival items in the form of 3D objects. The current edition of the project, which is being developed in collaboration with the POLIN Museum, involves the digitalisation of two clothing objects – gloves and a wedding headpiece – from the museum's collection.

The aim is to support the preservation of cultural heritage through the creation of digital twins of archival clothing created in collaboration with 3D designers  and to test the most optimal form of work to enable digitalisation.

The project is a kind of technological laboratory in which we explore the possibilities, pros and cons of digitalisation, as well as the challenges facing the clothing industry. Through our work, we want to build a narrative based on the belief that clothing is part of our identity and directly affects our lives, creating not only a personal but also a collective history.
