Postcard with a scene of Shabbat preparations – USD 50

A postcard is showing preparations for the Shabbat evening in a middle-class Jewish family. In the foreground, servants in the kitchen prepare dishes. In the bacground we see a family – a mother is combing her daughter's hair, a father and a son are cleaning candlesticks for Shabbat candles. At the bottom, in a frame, there is an inscription "ערב שבת" (Hebrew: Shabbat evening). Next to it there is a signature – H. Goldberg.

On the reverse of the card there are calculations made with blue pencil and printed inscriptions – "postcard" in Polish, French and Russian and the name of the publishing house "Verlag Jehudia, Warschau" in German and Yiddish.
