Although this sculpture by Teodor Bok was shown at exhibitions under the title "Radar", it definitely looks more like a biplane. However, as is most often the case with Bok, it is not a reconstruction of an authentic biplane, but a variation on it.
Teodor Bok is a Polish artist with Jewish roots. After March '68, when his parents left Poland, he wanted to leave the country too, however he received a permission to do so only in 1973. Family legend has it that the then Prime Minister of Sweden, Olof Palme, intervened in his case. The story of Teodor Bok is presented in the Postwar Years gallery at POLIN Museum Core Exhibition.
