“The Jewish Town” in the Yiddish language, which Jews spoke before the war, is “shtetl”. We will visit one of the shtetls during the workshops at the “Encounters with Modernity” Gallery. Although we still have vacations, we will have a glance at a cheder (Jewish school) and we will learn about trades practiced by Jews in the 19th century. Other attractions will be waiting for us at the Education Centre.

Workshops entitled “Big Weaving” will be the first attraction. During these workshops, we will develop our manual skills and practice patience while creating our own fabrics. The workshops will be conducted by Sylwia Nowak, an instructor of artistic activities for children and youth, author of stage setting and theatrical costumes, co-founder of the Association Balkon Kulturalny encompassing artists and instructors.

The second surprise are “The Shoemaking Workshops”, during which we will design and make footwear for the entire family! You will meet Szymon Gotowski, a coach and an animator, enthusiast of creating historic costumes and an admirer of creative solutions.

Children aged 4 to 10 and their carers are invited! Do not miss this opportunity. Enlist now!

30 August, 11.00 a. m., free admission, reservations required.

The workshops are implemented thanks to Boeing’s support.
