Multicultural Warsaw – Warszawiak
Multicultural Warsaw – Warszawiak
Literary and music workshop
December 1, 3.00 – 6.00 PM
Leader: DJ Anusz (Piotr Anuszewski)
Workshop held within the framework of the Multicultural Warsaw series. We will analyze various popular song texts (from Mieczysław Fogg to the modern ballads of Eldo) which appeal to the notion of Warsaw-ness. What do they tell us about Warsaw identity and the inhabitants of the capital? Are these ideas reflected in popular consciousness? Participants will create their own DJ set, supplementing or developing the extant material. The workshop will serve as a springboard for a discussion about the cultural identity of modern-day Warsaw and Varsovians.
Piotr Anuszewski is a journalist, promoter of cultural events, DJ, youth trainer, Varsovian. He holds a degree in history. As a music journalist, he has written for “Hiro” and “Machina”, and is also the editor-in-chief of the lifestyle web portal Mixtape.com.pl. He also works as a youth trainer for the City of Warsaw.
