Hanukkah and the Power of Words—a family workshop
We invite you to celebrate the joyous Hanukkah with us—the holiday full of light and fun! We will get acquainted with the traditions and special words related to Hanukkah, and we will practice (in more than one way!) the Hebrew alphabet. We will delve into the history of letters and solve puzzles. We will also visit briefly the Core Exhibition, and the temporary one. We will spin the dreidel, a traditional Hanukkah game. We guarantee a warm, cozy and very creative atmosphere!
The workshop accompanies "The Power of Words" temporary exhibition and the Core Exhibition.
Program
A Hanukkah game
- 14 December (Sunday), 3PM – 6PM
- Start: InfoPoint in the main hall
We invite everyone who enjoys challenges, puzzles as well as art and movement workshops—and, of course, having fun—to take part in our Hanukkah game. Nine tasks will await you, through which you’ll discover the customs and symbols associated with the Hanukkah holiday. You will learn how to play dreidel, and search for curiosities in both the Core and temporary exhibitions. You’ll decorate tote bags with selected motifs, make keychains, and adorn unusual books. You’ll also find out what your name looks like beautifully written in Hebrew calligraphy and uncover the secrets of letters hidden in a special place. Surprise prizes will wait for you at the end of the game!
Please note: You should allow about 2 hours to complete the game.
