Meeting of the Polish Development Committee

The Polish Museum Development Committee met for its annual meeting on April 18th, 2012.

The Polish Development Committee headed by Mr. Marcin Święcicki brings together distinguished figures from the world of culture, science, business and politics.

During the meeting participants discussed the state of preparations for the opening of the Museum in 2013. Guests of the Committee included acting Director of the Museum Agnieszka Rudzińska, President of the Jewish Historical Institute Association Piotr Wiślicki, Exhibition Director Alicja Knast, President of the Museum Council Prof. Marian Turski as well as a representative of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Director Jacek Miler.

The invited representatives of the Museum’s organizers and developers presented the Committee with detailed information concerning the advancement of works as well as upcoming events.

This year’s meeting of the Committee was particularly important since it took place in the year directly preceding the opening of the Museum. The building as well as the Main Exhibition are already at an advanced stage of completion. The same may also be said of the Museum’s broad range of program activities. At the same time, it has been a few weeks since Agnieszka Rudzińska, the Museum’s acting director over the past year, submitted her resignation. The Minister of Culture and National Heritage has announced the nomination of Waldemar Dąbrowski, Director of the Polish National Theatre and Opera, as plenipotentiary for the opening of the Museum.

President Marcin Święcicki impelled the members of the Committee to actively support and popularize the creation of the Museum as well as encourage Polish entrepreneurs to join the circle of donors and co-makers of the Museum.
