The Museum receives the „Warsaw Ghetto Uprising” medal
The honorary “Warsaw Ghetto Uprising” medal was presented to the Museum of the History of Polish Jews on September 12, 2013. The medal, awarded by the Association of Jewish Combatants and Victims of the Second World War, was awarded to the management, staff and volunteers of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews for their exceptional contribution to the organization of the commemorations of the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
It was officially presented to the Acting Director of the Museum Andrzej Cudak by the President of the Association of Jewish Combatants Tomasz Miedziński.
This medal represents many years of work carried on by the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, created thanks to the effort of the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland as well as many Jewish organizations with whom we will continue to work on a regular basis – said Cudak.
Tomasz Miedziński also presented the Museum with several books published by the Association of Jewish Combatants, documenting the military effort of Jews on the fronts of the Second World War. The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Association of Jewish Combatants and Victims of the Second World War, the Association of the Jewish Historical Institute of Poland and the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
